Mastermind Monday

Monday morning...I got out of bed at 5ish and went about exercising for 30 minutes, meditating and yoga postures. This morning went great with my son and husband and I was in the office by 8:30am...a fete for us.

I wasn't completely mentally at the job after I received one of my first emails announcing my boss' dad had passed. I felt a sense of loss because of what a great man he was. With Veteran's Day coming up, I've been thinking about how to discuss the holiday with my son and how to celebrate it and teach him some things (all the while learning as I do). I don't know if it impacted me because I'm starting my cycle in a few days/hours.... In any event, I found some sites about Mastermind success and read one of particular interest where you say 3 times daily 100 times, "I AM PROSPEROUS" until it sinks into your subconscious. So far I did the exercise 2x.

The great things that happened:

-a lady I'd been thinking about I ran into the only time that I was out of the office.
-In my goal book for the week I have written down that I want to get $10,000. The first call I got was for an rfp for $10k for December activity. I really meant that I wanted to personally net $10k so I know that I must be clear in my goal writing.
-I listened to a tape and it talked about doing things that make you happy and to focus on joy.
-My husband, son and I worked on his homework assignment which was to 1) bring something in that starts with the letter "H" and 2) make a squash. My son came up with a heart and I happened to have a stuffed one and for the squash, we used construction paper as a background, went to the internet and made a copy of a cartoon squash and the health benefits. My husband cut out the squash and the benefits. My son glued it on the construction paper and colored the squash. I then found some glitter and he selected the colors and I put the glue around the squash since he was the star. I explained that we did something extraordinary by taking an ordinary assignment and adding extra stuff to it. We had fun and learned something.

All in all, it was a good day.

Keeping my boss and his family in prayer and the people in San Diego who have been evacuated.

My Perfect Week

What does my perfect week look like?
I am calm and energized coming from my source and recognizing God in all. I know that I know that everything is in divine order.

I woke up at 5am daily and had at least one hour of ME (an acronym for Meditation and Exercise) time.

My family woke up and we were all calm and happy and had great wonderful breakfasts together and were out of the house by 7:45am. We were downtown and dropping my son off at daycare by 8am and I'm in the office by 8:15am.

I stayed focused on achieving my financial goals and money came to me effortlessly and in fun ways. I met powerful decision makers and we created business opportunities that are for everyones highest good.

My husband has been loving and supportive toward me and my son scored really high on the tests (even surprising us) and gets into the special program that he deserves to be in.

We had more than enough money as it has been coming from various sources and we are in a great place in our marriage...passion is back and we have been having a lot of fun as a couple and as a family.

My son and I bonded and he's been listening to me and he's really been this incredible person that I knew that he would be. His agent has called and he's got work...national!

This has been one of the best weeks in a very long time!

My meeting with my manager went better than anticipated and even the upper, upper management has taken note of the passion and excellent job that I have been doing for the company. I have created excellent new business opportunities and closed deals that they wanted for a while.

My relationships with my friends are awesome and I finally have the invitations out for the best industry party this town has seen in decades.

All is well...and so it is....

Mastermind Your Way to Success

I went online and found an article entitled, "Mastermind Your Way to Success" that I thought was great! I think that I will be sharing it with my group. It's by Lorrie Morgan – Ferrero, Expert Copywriter.

Enjoy and good luck:

What do Mark Victor Hansen, Robert Allen, Anthony Robbins, Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Ben Franklin have in common?

They all leverage the power of the mastermind team.

The mastermind works on the concept that two (or more) heads are better than one. When you gather a group of like-minded people and focus on one particular problem, a funny thing happens. Not only do you get intelligent feedback on blind spots you may not have noticed. But a truly phenomenal thing also happens with a mastermind group - the psychic aspect.

"The human mind is a form of energy, a part of it being spiritual in nature.
When the minds of two people are coordinated in a SPIRIT OF HARMONY, the spiritual units of energy of each mind form an affinity, which constitutes the 'psychic' phase of the Master Mind." Excerpted from Think and Grow Rich

See, when a group is united in the same purpose, the number of ideas in the room balloon off of other people's ideas. I witnessed this personally last month at a networking meeting lead by Jim Bunch of Six Figure Practice. In groups of 6-8 we brainstormed how to raise $10,000 in three days. The ideas were mind boggling. As we got more and more excited, our ideas became more and more bold. One group said they weren't stopping at $10,000. They wanted to raise $1,000,000!

So how do you harness this kind of power for yourself? Masterminds are rather subjective in that you must do what works for YOU and your lifestyle ultimately. I have been in my mastermind for a year now and I couldn't be happier. My business has hit an all -time high. And I credit the habit of masterminding with the lion's share of my success. Here are some of the qualities that work for us.

• Keep the number small. My group is 4 people but we could comfortably increase to as many as 6.
• Meet regularly. We meet by phone once a week to go over successes and challenges. Plus we put one person on the hot seat for special focus. Then we also meet in person for an all day retreat a minimum of 3-4 times a year.
• Don't make anybody wrong. There is no such thing as a bad idea.
• As soon as you begin attacking the creativity of the mastermind, the ideas will shrivel up. Keep the brainstorm going and you'll be astounded at the new levels of insight you reach.
• Treat each meeting as if you paid $100,000 a year to be a member. A mastermind meeting isn't a coffee klatch. The only way it can truly be effective is if everyone takes it seriously and shows up ready to focus.
• Hold one another accountable. Got a goal? When do you expect to have that done by? Your mastermind team wants to know. There is great power in verbalizing your intention.

Make a wish list of people you would like to be in your mastermind. Write out the qualities you would like to see in the ideal candidates. Be specific.

A word of caution - be very picky about whom you choose to make this commitment with. You will likely be together for a long time. Make it a goal for 2007 to be a part of a mastermind team.

Master Mind Consciousness

Yeah, I just got back from church.... I went for my second week of Master Minding. I must say that it was great! It's a transformational tool that I'm definitely using and people benefit from. My husband bought me the journal for Christmas and I used it for one week. You can get information about the steps and how it's done by going to this site:

Some of the things that happened last week: I lost 4 pounds from last Sunday and have gained clarity about what I want to achieve; I got an appointment for my son to be tested for a special program and also got clearer about my goals and objectives overall. This week I have a lot of stuff coming up so I would like everything to be in Divine Order. One of the things that came up in our meeting last week and today was about remembering to spend time daily going within (meditating) even for as little as 10 minutes to reconnect with spirit. Also, we continually are on reactionary mode. When we go within daily and breathe, things have a way of unfolding bettter than we anticipated. Last week I took baby steps in my goal setting but because of my blessings and seeing things happen in my life, I am working on attaining larger goals. Things that I really want and have been to afraid to ask for or believe for.

On My Way --- Juice Quest

Well, this morning I got up and went to the basement to do laundry and look for my juicer. I don't know if seeing "The Game Plan" where The King drinks his breakfast or simply my son having difficulty breathing was the impetus. I have apples and ginger in the refrigerator and was on a mission to find my juicer to help my little one breathe easier. He was a bit congested and a lot of the kids at soccer had coughs and stuff. At any rate, as I was looking through boxes, I discovered more Halloween decorations (some I'd forgotten I had). That was a welcome surprise. After church, we have more decorating to do.

With all of the medicines coming off of the market for children I think that I'm going to begin using more holistic approaches. I should have been doing that all along but as a parent you want immediate relief for the ones you love.

His congestion has cleared up but I still want to get my juicer going... I did find this cool site that gives you a breakdown of the healing properties of different herbs, fruit and vegetables. It's http://www.oohoi.com/. I haven't had a chance to really dig deep into the site but I love having tools that I can go to in a hurry. If you know of any great sites for holistic alternatives, please let me know.

Saturday Night

We just got back from the movies...."The Game Plan". My husband selected it and I just went along with it. We went to the Oak Park Lake Theatre which was really cool. The movie was sweet and my 4 year old was into it. He wants to play football now. I would recommend this as light entertainment and found myself hugging my son through parts of the film. I realize how blessed I am because I'm learning a lot from him as I try to educate him.

I joined a Master Mind group at church and we're meeting in the morning. I just started last week and I have seen some profound changes take place this week. Several months ago I encouraged the man who runs the group to begin the Master Mind group at our church. He changed his life from down and out to multimillionaire. I avoided going to the group because I have been too involved with work, the church, family, other volunteering responsibilities and I was simply tired. I just hadn't seemed to have very much time for me. Well, I ran into the gentleman a couple of weeks ago and I was sick and tired of being sick and tired and knew that what I've been doing with my life isn't bringing the results that I wanted. He made a comment to me about writing down my perfect day everyday. It sounds simple and helped me to put things in perspective. What does my perfect day look like....Sunday - get up at what time? What's the perfect breakfast? Do I read the NY Times or spend time with my son or do brunch with my family? What does the rest of my day look like? And moving forward like that. I checked the group out last Sunday and we dealt with the first concept of SURRENDERING. It was completely appropriate because I was ready to surrender and allow God to guide me. It was some of the best time spent in quite a while and I'm looking forward to going back tomorrow. I have a lot of blessings that have occurred daily in my life....from big to small.

I have got to get my prosperity consciousness back...I deserve and accept the good that I want. I have put so much time and energy into everyone and everything around me that I haven't even had time or energy to focus on ME. Well, I have made the time recently and it's been awesome.

Book Lovers

Yes, my soccer loving child is also a lover of books. Oak Park has a special little shop filled with Children's books called the Magic Tree. Before coming home, we stopped in there because my son out of the blue began asking for Little Bill books by Bill Cosby. I have been to Borders and Barnes & Nobles and nobody seems to carry them. You have to special order them. I ended up ordering many on Amazon.com. The Magic Tree came through and I scored 3 Little Bill books!

Anytime my little one appears to be interested in a topic or anything, I try to get books to match his interest. That's how I learned that I enjoyed reading and "readers are leaders". It seems to keep him engaged and to this day, he always insists that we read no less than 3 books to him a night before falling to sleep. The great thing about the Little Bill series is that they have great lessons in them and there's an African American boy with his 2 parents and his grandmother is his best friend. Again, these are positive role models for an African American boy that he can identify with. I also love that Little Bill respects his elders like his grandmother, "Alice the Great".

My husbands grandmother who is 98 years old took in her great grand daughter a while ago when she was pregnant. The little boy turned 5 about a month ago. When we went to Gary recently for his birthday party, I asked how many books the little guy had. His mom told us 2....that's it...2! We have gone through my sons books and will be sending the little guy some books that my son is no longer interested in.
